The Master of Urban and Regional Planning Program at the University has evolved to become one of the strongest planning programs in the United States. We offer a hands-on, real-world oriented program that uses Colorado as our classroom and engages students with top planning/design professionals and the community.

Currently, New Jersey and Puerto Rico are the only state/territory requiring a professional license to practice as an urban planner. Licensure requirements can change at any time. Therefore, students are encouraged to contact the applicable licensing board in the state where they are hoping to be employed.

The Master of Architecture at CU Denver prepares students for entry into the architecture profession and licensure. Our mission is to lead in the discovery, communication and application of knowledge in the discipline of architecture by integrating theory and practice. In this collaborative educational model, environmental, economic, social, cultural, aesthetic, and ethical concerns are fundamental.

The Master of Architecture meets the degree requirements for licensure in every state where a graduate degree is required or listed as one of many requirements to sit for a licensure exam.

You can find the specific licensure information here: https://architecturelicense.us/licensure-state-requirements

The Master of Landscape Architecture at CU Denver prepares students to address current and future problems and challenges in local, regional, and global contexts. An issues-based approach ensures that students will be exposed to and participate in the development of new responses to emergent and ongoing crises and opportunities, emphasizing environmental and social justice as a key element for the design of livable, sustainable, and resilient places and landscapes.
