The Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS Arch) is a design studio-based curriculum. The program combines critical thinking with active making in pursuit of creative solutions to contemporary design problems. The BS Arch degree is also STEM-designated.

Welcome to the home page of CU Denver’s Master of Engineering in electrical engineering. This degree is for the student who wants a professional degree with supplemental engineering knowledge in computer sciences, cybersecurity, and business, including a scholarly project and coursework.

Astrophysics is an important and well-represented sub discipline in physics. It includes the study of the solar system, galactic and extragalactic astrophysics, as well as cosmology. A minor in this field combines a theoretical approach with observational analysis. There is opportunity to do research in this field as well. The physics department offers minors in physics, biophysics, and astrophysics. However, it is not possible to receive a minor in more than one of these fields. Also, physics majors may elect to receive the astrophysics or biophysics minor from the department, but not the physics minor.

Provides an enriching experience that enhances students’ intellectual and professional growth, cultivating their ability to use communication to create an equitable and humane world. Graduates work in a broad range of settings, including institutions of higher education, corporations and businesses, health care organizations, nonprofits, and arts institutions.

Provides deep knowledge of film history, an informed understanding of how films get made, and tools for analyzing not only cinema from around the world but also television and graphic novels. The program prepares students for a variety of careers, such as film criticism, video production, and teaching film, while also laying a strong foundation for graduate study.

Emphasizes a research focus on human-environment interaction. Within this area of critical geographic inquiry, students study geospatial science, a federally recognized STEM subject area that includes geographic information systems (GIS) and computer cartography, remotely sensed image analysis, and spatial statistics.

Welcomes students whose interests are diverse and who want to look at ideas in varied modes. Students fashion a course of study based on individual interests and goals. By taking courses from multiple disciplines, students develop innovative thinking and analytic skills to prepare them for a rapidly changing world.

Develops skills in writing, speaking, interpersonal relationships, critical thinking, analysis, and teamwork, increasing students’ ability to communicate clearly and effectively for a variety of communication or business career paths.

Provides students with an opportunity to develop analytical and leadership skills in the arena of creative activism and the use of collective power to pursue the common good. Many graduates go on to become leaders in their communities as organizers, attorneys, or public servants in regional, state, or federal government.

The Social Justice Minor is designed for students who are passionate about being engaged citizens and effecting change locally and globally. To this end, students will be exposed to global perspectives on social movements, conflict resolution, environmental stewardship, critical theory, and grassroots organizing. Earning a Social Justice Minor will make students competitive for graduate school as well as for jobs in NGOs, public health, political office, community leadership, and in the ever-increasing number of modern corporations that seek employees who are committed to sustainable and ethical vocations.
