Stay on the Right Path
New to CU Denver? Still undecided or looking to change majors? With 41 bachelor’s, 59 master’s, and 14 doctoral degree programs available, you have plenty of options. It’s also very important that you understand exactly which classes to take, and when to take them, to ensure that you are on the right track to graduate. In addition to regularly meeting with your advisor, you’ll want to have your program-specific undergraduate degree map handy when you are planning and registering for classes.
"15 to Finish" in Four Years
If you take at least 15 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters, or a combination of 30 credit hours during a calendar year in the fall, spring and summer semesters, you’ll be able to graduate in four years. Studies by Complete College America show that students who follow this plan do better academically, take on less student loan debt, and are more likely to achieve their bachelor’s degree.

If you have not already submitted official scores to CU Denver, please visit our Admissions page.
You can see how your AP/IB/CLEP, DSST & Cambridge A Level exams will transfer by visiting the CU Denver catalog.

International transcripts are reviewed by the Office of International Admissions to determine appropriate accreditation. Transfer credits will initially receive general credit and not an exact equivalency to CU Denver courses.
In order to start the course evaluation process, you must request an English copy of the course syllabus and provide it to your advisor.
If you have now completed courses that were ‘In Progress’ when you were admitted to CU Denver - please submit official, updated transcripts to the CU Denver Office of Undergraduate Admissions mailing address or electronically.

If credits you expected to transfer and count toward your CU Denver degree weren’t accepted, we highly recommend meeting with your advisor to discuss options.

Degree Audit, Planner, and Scheduler
It can be very frustrating to discover you’re further from your goal than you thought. Avoid an unpleasant surprise and track your degree carefully with the many tools available to you. Know the courses needed to complete your degree by regularly conducting an informal degree audit and by meeting with your advisor regularly to officially chart your course.
You’ll also help yourself stay on the right track by knowing the academic calendar. A missed deadline can be costly!
