This fall, the Learning Resources Center (LRC) is excited to launch the LRC Explorer Passport, a new participation program designed to encourage CU Denver students to explore the many academic support resources available through the LRC and the Learning Hub. Whether you’re looking for tutoring, academic coaching, writing support, study skills development, or new ways to connect with campus resources, the Explorer Passport turns each experience into part of a larger journey toward success… a new academic adventure!

The Explorer Passport invites you to engage with services that are already helping many CU Denver students thrive in their academics. Every tutoring appointment, Supplemental Learning session, Writing Lab consultation, coaching appointment, workshop, and other eligible activity helps participants progress through a series of achievement levels tracked by LRC staff. Along the way, students can earn recognition items that celebrate their commitment to learning, growth, and persistence.

The program is built around five milestone levels that reflect a student’s engagement throughout the academic year. As students participate in academic support activities, they’ll advance through a series of explorer-themed achievements:

Explorer – 3 activities/visits
Adventurer – 6 activities/visits
Trailblazer – 10 activities/visits
Pathfinder – 15 activities/visits
Summit Scholar – 20 activities/visits

Each milestone comes with a special CU Denver promo item exclusive to the LRC’s Explorer Passport program, and available while supplies last. From collectible patches to water bottles, a sweatshirt, monogramed outdoor blanket, and even a Mini Milo Plush for students who reach the Summit Scholar level. There are plenty of incentives to keep exploring throughout the 2026-2027 academic year.

But the real reward goes far beyond the swag… level up and discover academic resources that make a difference. Many students are familiar with one or two campus support services but may not realize how many resources are available to help them succeed. The Explorer Passport encourages students to step outside their comfort zones and try something new.

Every interaction with the LRC provides an opportunity to build skills, strengthen confidence, and create habits that contribute to long-term success.

The program also includes special engagement opportunities created just for the Explorer Passport experience. Students can participate in activities such as a campus success tour, scavenger hunt, Learning Hub completion activities, peer referrals, success story submissions, and semester reflections. These experiences are designed to help students connect more deeply with the CU Denver community while discovering resources that can support them throughout their academic journey.

The LRC team knows that success is often built through small, consistent actions. Attending a tutoring session, asking for help on a paper, joining a workshop, or connecting with a coach may seem like simple steps, but together they can have a significant impact on a student’s academic experience. The Explorer Passport recognizes those efforts by celebrating engagement, curiosity, and a willingness to use available resources. As a pilot program launching this fall semester, the Explorer Passport also represents an exciting opportunity for the campus community to help shape a new tradition.
